Terms for Enrolling in Snow Herons Martial Arts Classes
Enrolment in our classes is available through either a termly or monthly membership. The monthly membership will remain active until we receive an email from you requesting a reduction in the monthly training fee or cancellation of your training with SHMA. If you decide not to continue with your monthly membership, please note that a minimum enrolment period of one month is required. Cancellations of your monthly membership made after the 2nd of the month will take effect in the following calendar month. Any payments scheduled during your notice period will be processed, and you will have access to your usually booked class(s) until the end of that period. Termly memberships can be canceled without notice at conclusion of the training term.
Trial Lessons
Members have the option to participate in a single paid session prior to to a termly or monthly membership. The afterschool classes are offered as full-price trial lessons: Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-4:30pm for £12 or 3-5:15pm for £15; Fridays from 2:15-4:15pm for £15. Age groups for these classes can be found in our weekly class schedule. All other trial lessons are free.
Membership
Once you sign up for a termly or monthly membership with SHMA, refunds and fee transfers are not given. SHMA also reserves the right to cancel up to two classes per term without offering a refund or fee transfer. You may make up any classes within 3 months for one class cancelled and 6 months for two classes cancelled. If SHMA cancels any additional classes, a refund will be issued. Students may catch up on up to two missed classes per term, but any unmade classes by the end of the training term will be voided and cannot be carried over to a new term.
Termly Insurance and Membership Fees
Termly Membership for Beginners (White Belt to Orange Belt with a Tag) is set at £1 per term. Termly Membership for Intermediates (Green Belt to Blue Belt with a White Tag) costs £1.50 per term. Termly Membership for Advanced students (Red Belt to CDB Belts) is £2 per term.
The Monthly Membership includes both Insurance and membership fees. For Black Belts, Insurance and Membership are included in the Annual (January) TEMAS Black Belt Membership fee of $25.
Missed or Cancelled Classes
SHMA reserves the right to cancel up to two classes per term without providing a refund or fee transfer. If in-person classes are canceled due to unforeseen circumstances (such as severe weather, natural disasters, government directives, contagious illnesses, transportation strikes, terrorism, or war), they will be conducted online using platforms like WhatsApp or Zoom. In such cases, our standard Terms and Conditions will apply for the remainder of the termly booked term or a 4-month monthly booking period. Students can make up SHMA cancelled classes within 3 months for one canceled in-person class and within 6 months for two canceled in-person classes. Students who miss classes not canceled by SHMA may catch up on up to two missed classes per term; however, any unmade classes at the end of the training term or 4-month termly booking period will be forfeited and cannot be transferred to a new term.
Student Lateness to Classess
Students are encouraged to arrive at the designated drop-off times to ensure they are fully prepared for their class, including thorough handwashing and putting on necessary safety equipment such as shin guards and groin guards. Arriving late may disrupt the group dynamic and cause students to miss important class content essential for developing the physical attributes and technical skills needed for belt grading. If you expect to be late, please inform us as soon as possible via text. Continued lateness may lead to a review of the student's class status, potentially resulting in a transfer to different class. Frequent lateness, or arriving more than 15 minutes late, may result in the student being denied entry to class at the discretion of the senior class instructor, as it could hinder their own training and that of the group; no refunds or make-up sessions will be provided.
