Holiday Camps

Snow Herons Martial Arts (SHMA) Holiday Camps offer an exciting mix of martial arts training, fitness activities, games, self-defense, leadership skills, and creativity, ensuring fantastic experiences for children and teenagers.
These camps are open to both SHMA students and newcomers during specific holiday periods, creating a fun and structured environment where participants can improve their martial arts skills, start their martial arts journey, make new friends, and build confidence.
Whether your child attends for a half day, a full day, or the entire week, each camp is designed to be active, engaging, and rewarding.
Camps are available for ages 5 to 15, with sessions running from 8am to 6pm, 9:15am to 5:15pm, 9:15am to 12:45pm, and 1:45pm to 5:15pm.
What's Included?
**The Korean Martial Art Tang Soo Do
**Fitness & Conditioning - Engage in games, obstacle courses, circuits, and activities that enhance agility, flexibility, coordination and bodyweight fitness.
**Self-Defense Workshops - practical self-defense skills tailored to different ages and skill levels.
**Team Games - Pickleball, Dodgeball, Giant football, Bagminton, Vollyball etc.
**Creative Activities - Crafts designed for all students.
**Outdoor Activities - outdoor games and Free Time.
Typical Day at Camp
8:00 - 9am Board games & Constructive play
9/9:15 - 9:30am: Arrival and free play
9:30 - 11:00am: Martial Arts class
11:00 - 11:30am: Snack & Chat time
11:30 AM - 12:30pm: Team games
12:30 - 12:45pm: Preparing for home or Lunch
12:45 - 1:45pm Lunch & Free time
1:45 - 3:15 Martial Arts
3:15 - 3:45 Snack & Chat time
3:45 - 4:45pm Team games
4:45 - 5:15pm: Preparing for home & Free time
5:15 - 6pm Constructive play
Typical Camp days can change as required
Holiday Camps provide additional opportunities for students preparing for grading.
Students may:

Complete additional syllabus practice.

Improve techniques before Main Grading.

Attend camp grading (where eligible).
Camp Grading Eligibility

Instructor approval is required.

Students must complete the required camp training sessions before grading.

Camp grading availability depends on grade level and holiday period.
Safeguarding & Attendance
SHMA attendance and welfare procedures apply throughout camp.

Students must be signed in and out each day by a parent or authorised adult.

Please inform SHMA of any medical conditions, allergies or medication before camp.

If your child is unable to attend a booked day, please notify SHMA as early as possible.

All camp activities are supervised by SHMA instructors and class assistants.
What to Bring

SHMA Members: Please bring your complete SHMA uniform and all required martial arts equipment. Students should also bring sports clothing and trainers for games and other activities. Football kits are not permitted.

New Students: Please wear/bring suitable sports clothing and trainers for all activities. No football kits, jeans or denim shorts.

Younger Students: Please also pack a spare pair of underwear and shorts/joggers, just in case of any accidents.
Water, Food & Snacks: All students must bring their own clearly named water bottle.
Please note our food rules:

NO butter or margarine in sandwiches — including vegan alternatives. This also applies to croissants. The instructor cannot tolerate the smell and will vomit!

NO nuts or nut products.

NO sweets or fruit snacks resembling fruit roll-ups.

Half-day students: bring a few suitable snacks, but no crisps or biscuits.

Full-day students: may bring one serving of crisps or popcorn and a maximum of two biscuits — NO shortbread.

Smoothies and similar drinks are permitted.

During camp, students continue progressing through the SHMA grading syllabus while developing:

Kicks and striking combinations.

Blocks and defensive movements.

Hyungs (Forms).

Ho Sin Sul self-defence techniques.

Hapkido releases and control techniques.

Controlled sparring skills.

Korean terminology and martial arts knowledge.
Training is always adapted to each student's age, experience and belt grade.
We offer flexible booking options tailored for families.
You can select to book individual sessions, specific days, or enjoy a discounted rate for a full week. Siblings receive an extra 10% discount, and we have a loyalty program where you can collect camp points for gifts like T-shirts and day bags.
Extended Full Day (8am - 6pm):
£60 per day, £275 for a full week.
Full Day (9:15am - 5:15pm):
£55 per day, £225 for a full week.
Half Day (9:15am - 12:45pm / 1:45pm - 5:15pm): £25 per day, £125 for a full week.

Advance Booking Required.
Places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Spaces are only secured once payment has been received - 50% deposit required.
